High Button Shoe

~Open Sunday Sign~

This sign has hung in my shop for years, never for sale, but to use when we occasionally were open on a Sunday for an event. On old farm board, I hand painted each letter using individual stencil, in black against the off white color board. $30+sh

~ Things Men Have Made~

Frequently taken by the work of old things, who made them? and when?, by their passion and skills, I have always found these sampler words dear to my heart. Stitched freehand in black floss on the inside panel of an old salvaged quilt piece, still bearing the hand stitching of its maker, and showing the stress and color of its former use, it is framed in a suitable black distressed frame. 13-1/2" x 16-1/2". Signed and dated. $85+sh

~ Herda Drobney~

Always intrigued by handmade dolls and especially favouring the primitive simplier ones, Herda Drobney is a favorite. Fashioned from soft brown flannels, Herda is painted and aged. She has a simple face with double stitched circle eyes, thin stitched mouth and an added nose. She wears a very old thin original dress, a Christening dress perhaps in its newness, now showing signs of natural aged coloring and thin here and there. Very primitive. 24" tall. $85.00+SH

Greeting card

Living on a farm in an old farmhouse gives me frequent photo opportunities as the sun works its way thru the sky, giving me sunlight and shadows to work with. This photograph is of a handmade cloth bird with old paper wings, in sun's shadow on our weathered chicken coop doors. On 5x7 quality card stock, with envelop. Mourning Sampler

...Ren B. Parker, may you rest in peace. I will remember you.~ These sampler words taken from an old headstone, buried under decades of leaves in a country cemetery I frequent and spend time cleaning old graves that have been forgotten, this stone bears witness to the short life of a little boy who died in 1891, before his first birthday. Upon uncovering it and reading the faint words, I sat for a long time and cried for this child. Stitched freehand, on old grain sack in brown floss, this mourning sampler is framed in an old large wood frame 15x18", once pristine, now with pieces missing and mended, as found, my favorites as it lends to & enhances the age of the sampler. Old Wood & String

I love old wood & architectural pieces, pieces of the past, their usefulness lost in modern life, to use for another purpose now. Common many years ago, this wood base for an electric pole wires still bears the grooves of the lines that wrapped it. Wound with old string, approx. 11" long. $24 INCLUDES sh. Great to hang a candle, dried herbs or a towel from!

Old Farm Feeder

..old barns always capture my heart. You find most wonderful things in them, often forgotten in todays culture. This feeder is one of them. Of old galvanized metal, the base is 6-1/4" square, the feeder is 1-1/2" tall, It shows all the signs of its age, from years of use. Comes with 2 handmade 100% beeswax corn in dried husks. Primitive soap dispenser

..the wooden base half of an old pestle and mortar set, once used for crushing herbs, I have repurposed it as a pinkeep with OLD flour sack filled with dried grass clippings and old pins. It has a few surface cracks from long ago, and was wired in a groove many years ago, as well. They merely add character! 8" high. Flour sack is a DARK taupe color, darker than the camera will show. $65.00+ $5.50 SH

...VERY grunged potholder, a bird?, a horse? I never could figure out which.. it has a head with bead eyes, and a tuft of black floss on the top of the head. 9" across. The bottom spreads out to make a circle. $20.00+ $3.50SH

Aged Papers & Envelops

Saving this very old and definitely used carpenter apron for some special purpose I hoped would come to me eventually, I aged 6 heavy folded paper stock 8.5x11" stationery and the envelops and housed them in this wonderful old repurposed carrier. Complete with a turkey feather from the wild 'herd' that roams our farm. $48.00+ $5.00 SH

black pin keep

..having affection it would seem for pin keeps, I have many of my own. This one from my collection, is painted black grain sack, with smock stitching, mounted on a large, heavy insulator base. 5" tall. Rusted pins. The pin keep is about as big as a grapefruit. $29.00 + $4.50 SH
