February Newsletter

Happy Valentines Day!! I am writing this to you ONE day early, not Valentines Day of course, as this is that day!  However, I am sure that you have an ungoing bet with somebody whether I will be ON the day of crow soup/ranting raven or NOT! well, you skeptical people out there, not only am I ON time, I am one day early. How's that?  That's only because we will be gone tomorrow until after lunch and I am so excited about our new stuff, I just have to tell you right now!!  The purpose of this letter of course, is to tell you about the February issue of www.crowsoup.com which comes out February 15th (Sunday) about 12AM. So if you are so inclined like one friend told me she occasionally does, just wait up till midnight and you can see it tonight!  for the rest of you who prefer actually sleeping to drooling over the goodies on crow soup, you can wait until tomorrow!  click on this http://www.crowsoup.com/Market586.php and it will take you right into us. New stuff after midnight!  Otherwise you can see the old stuff! We are showing makedo's, eggs, and pears. Very primitive this time. I LOVE IT!! The pears have cost me many brain cells, so you better look at them. You will be seeing the 'revised' pattern of pear.  The original drawn without pattern to follow is now referred to as "the demon pear". Those of you who correspond with me KNOW what this means!! I seriously doubt you will see the original. So it was back to the drawing board for the pears and the second 'pattern' turned out more respectable!  I can make them not so stained, if you prefer. But the dark stained ones are ssssssoooooo cool! While you are there, check out the other exhibitors too. I know it has gotten to be a long list of exhibits, but it is worth the time! AND, if you haven't been into our website in a while, you gotta go!  www.highbuttonshoe.net. Beulah has been making some great changes to it. I mentioned before the use of black.  I like this new look.  Course, I liked the old look too! New things are pictured under the new items, and we have some new dolls up also.  These are sold from our site this time and not on ebay.  Not many. I have body parts everywhere, just not together yet. We have been fairly busy.   Ronnie got all the shelves up in the utility room, so his part is done.  Mine, of course, is not.  Sssshhhh! I am hoping he won't notice my failure on this topic, but I suppose he will. Right now, I am trying to figure out how to clean out the refrigerator before we get groceries tomorrow so he won't see me do that. You would THINK I would do this hateful chore while he's at work, wouldn't you? So perhaps I will be up at midnight to welcome in the new crow soup, with one eye glued to the computer screen and the other one on the open refrigerator, while hopefully he will be asleep!   I had our harvest table cleaned off for 2 meals today. Breakfast and lunch. It has been buried in Maude makedo's and the pears for weeks. Yesterday I couldn't stand it any longer and put everything away in it's proper place ( I KNOW, you don't believe it!) and then the rest I just thru in a box and put in that drated utility room.  Which is why that room looks like it does. Today I started the dreaded tax preparation. My vow last spring to organize better for taxes was an improvement over past years, but I see already I need a tad more organizing. So the dining room table and 3 chairs are already stacked in piles.  I CANNOT move anything, to merely EAT there, until the taxes are ready for the accountant. That's another reason for the newsletter tonight. My 'fuzzies" get progressly worse, until the taxes are in the accountants hands! You know of course, we are buried to our armpits in snow.  Whoops!  s.n.o.w.  I am spelling that quietly so Mother Nature doesn't hear me. Good grief! It just does NOT stop! That gorgeous new white truck of mine does NOT like snow. It doesn't have 4WD.  OK, I know what you are thinking.  New truck, living in Michigan, no 4WD, where was your brain when you bought this truck?  I suppose if I can't drive in snow, I won't get very far in the swamp in the spring either. But I want to tell you , I LOOK GOOD in this truck!  But with all this snow, I pretty much stay home.  Besides I have to shovel each day. Me and the red wool ski cap have a standing date each morning with the snow shovel. In case you are wondering, I don't think I have gotten any taller, and that was the plan behind all this shoveling! Did I TELL you the latest??????  I am so bummed (and I cleaned that up considerably!)  I have been summoned for JURY duty!  Now I ask you, do I strike you as the sort of upright citizen who would be a good jury candidate?  I knew you would see me, like I do,  as a bad candidate, but apparently the judge doesn't see it that way and when I sent my valid (to me) reasons WHY I couldn't come, she dismissed them and told me in letter that it was NOT a summons, as I had read in the letter with my own 2 eyes, but an order to be there.  OR suffer the consequences.    SO on Thursday Feb 26th I will be in court. AND get this, it says to dress appropriately!  BrunieMae (www.saltboxfarm.com ) and I have had a great laugh over what I can wear that would be appropriate. I suppose that lets out my red wool ski cap, my arctic pack boots, my jeans with the  frayed hems , my gloves ( that inspite of looking all over in that pile in the living room closet for a MATCHED pair WHICH is futile) which are 2 different gloves,  same color kind of, but one is a mitten with the thumb kind of thread bare, the other a glove.  THIS is how I look all winter.  Course, I could always wear a pair of Ron's yellow fuzzy work gloves (that match) , but they would clash with my red wool ski cap.  Anyway, do you think they would notice this appropriate dress  in court? BrunieMae thinks not.  So, think of me on the 26th.  You may all have to take up a collection to bail me out for contempt! I just plain don't want to do this!! Speaking of BrunieMae..we (me and Ron) are trying our hand again at candles.  BrunieMae comes into the picture because she owns the big white Lab named Gracie.  Our first attempts at this candle closely resembles a dog turd. We are improving this technique even as I speak. However, it might take some time before my eyebrows and the hair on my fingers grows back. I don't think we will make it as candle makers! Well perhaps I should just say I maybe won't.  Ron still has his finger hair and eyebrows...you know who doesn't.... sooooooo, on that note, I will close.  Thanks for asking to be a part of the farm! If I am not in jail, or buried in a snowbank, I will be chained to the dining room table leg and the taxes, until we talk again. I will be so glad when February is OVER. Keep track of the new stuff on our website.  Go in often.  The site changes, and we are showing new stuff as soon as I can get it photo'd. in fond regard, Miss Clotilda
