I had the good fortune myself to grow up surrounded by many strong, spirited, hard working and many times eccentric women. Growing up in the country just outside a very small rural town, I didn't realize until many years later, that these women were exceptional ladies.  I didn't know they were different from many folks. It was my sincere and honest pleasure to have such women in my life. Perhaps this explains in some small way, who I am..and possibly why as I age, I find their lifestyles meaningful to me and am being drawn back to their ways, forsaking the ways of today. I will forever to grateful to be born into the family of my Grandma Hattie Compton, whom I adored ,who taught me values, morals, and most interesting things of life. And to have married into the family of my beloved mother in law, Inez Christine Byers, the most kindest old soul woman, that I think of every day with gratitude and love and smiles. She affected my life far more than she ever could have known. I loved her like my own mother, and hope in my heart that she always knew how very much I loved her. My shop is her house. She surrounds me each day with memories of her. They, and other people, remain prominently in my past, and shape who I am. I wish this for all of us...that when we are gone, we will have affected someone, if only one person, so much that they will always remember us with smiles and laughter...........
